One of the things that I have always meant to get for my Nikon D80 DSLR was a remote shutter release. It's impossible to take any shots in the dark without a remote or resorting to using the timer to trigger the shutter.

The Nikon remote sells for about $20 and I can’t find one locally. OnOne Software has a new app that is perfect for the DSLR user who wants a remote called DSLR Camera Remote v1.1. The app promises support for Nikon DSLRs and for the Canon T1i/500D.
Two versions are available; the pro edition sells for $19.99 and lets you trigger autofocus while viewing the live view from the LCD and it supports auto bracketing. The lite edition is only $1.99 and simply activates the shutter, which is all I want. The app is available on the app store now.
